Jesus and Second Life

Big props go to LifeChurch.tv for making their way into the massive online game "Second Life." They have created an island (not sure if I like the idea of creating a Christian "bubble" of sorts) where people can go and check out videos, resources, and a Christian post secret glass house of sorts.

They have also partnered with xxxchurch.com to bring awareness to the growing "virtual sex" and pornography in the game.

It's a very interesting concept and I'm sure that more Christian groups will join them in the months to come. If you want to read LifeChruch's blog post explaining the project in more detail, click here.

  1. thanks for the props.

I wanted to respond to the "bubble" comment. I agree with you completely...the last thing we want to do is create a place for a just a bunch of Christians to hang out. The term island is a bit misleading in SL since you are only a "teleport" away from any location. Almost all large companies and "brands" like MTV, Dell, CNet, etc use this approach to development in Second Life since it provides alot of flexibility with growing the size of live events. It is very easy to get to.

Again...thanks for the props, I just wanted to clarify the island thing.

  2. After I made that comment, I thought about that. I don't use Second Life, but that makes sense. Thanks for bringing Christ into the digital gaming realm- great idea!

Sony has a new service with the PS3 that is going to be like Second Life. I say you should do the same thing with the "Home" service.

    Blessings :)
